HEY! I’M JESS.
A few years back, I moved into my first home and finally got to fulfill the dream I’d had for years: adopting a dog who could be my little adventure buddy. Enter Poppy.
She’d been rescued from an abandoned house in Cleveland, Ohio—skinny, scared, and fresh off raising a litter of puppies. The first time I saw her, I just knew. She was mine.
But let’s be real: it wasn’t all cuddles and wagging tails.
Poppy was deeply anxious, reactive to both dogs and people, and constantly pacing like she could never quite settle. I was overwhelmed but determined. I threw myself into learning everything I could about behavior, communication, and what it really takes to rehabilitate, not just manage, a dog like her.
With the help of a local balanced trainer, something clicked—not just for Poppy, but for me.
I found my passion in transforming misunderstood dogs and empowering the humans who love them. I saw firsthand how the right tools, mindset, and structure could completely change a dog’s world—and strengthen the bond between dog and owner in the process.
I started Everywhere Dog Training because every dog deserves a chance to be understood and every owner deserves to feel confident in their ability to lead.
I take a balanced, real-world approach to training. That means we don’t rely on gimmicks or one-size-fits-all methods—we build structure, create clear boundaries, and teach dogs how to find calm in a chaotic world.
Whether you’re dealing with reactivity, raising a wild puppy, or just want a dog who can join you on hikes, patios, and everyday adventures without the stress, I’m here to help.
No judgment. No fluff. Just honest, supportive guidance from someone who’s been in your shoes.
Outside of the dog world you’ll probably find me curled up with a good book, exploring new spots with my husband and own pups, or making a mess in the kitchen while trying out a new recipe.
Are You Qualified to Train My Dog?
Great question—and honestly, you should be asking it.
Dog training isn’t a one-size-fits-all job. It takes real experience, a serious commitment to learning, and a whole lot of patience (plus a sense of humor helps too). The good news? I’ve got all of the above.
I’ve worked hands-on with over 100 client dogs, raised and trained my own pups, and fostered more than 50 dogs—from shy shelter dogs to full-blown behavior modification projects. And I didn’t just “wing it.” I’ve spent years studying canine behavior, shadowing top trainers, and investing in the kind of education that helps me show up for dogs and their humans every single day.
Here’s how I’ve built my skillset:
HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE
Spent six months shadowing a professional trainer in Pittsburgh—assisting in everything from group classes to board-and-trains
Volunteered at a local animal shelter and helped transition dozens of foster dogs into loving homes
Worked with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and struggles—from bite history cases to bouncy new puppies
ADVANCED EDUCATION & SEMINARS
Attended Train the Trainer (T3)—an 80-hour immersive experience led by three of the nation’s top dog trainers
Shadowed Solid K9 Training in Florida, working with aggressive and difficult dogs
Trained with Sean O’Shea and the team at The Good Dog in New Orleans
Participated in a powerful 3-day seminar in Dallas with Larry Krohn, Jay Jack, and Joel Silverman
Attended a 4-day, women-led seminar in Orlando with Kait Stanowski (Kane9) and Bethany Johnson (Walking Dog Training)
Shadowed Kait Stanowski again at Kane9 in Madison, WI
Completed the Solid K9 Training 7-Day Mastermind Program—a deep-dive into real-world dog behavior and rehabilitation
ONGOING LEARNING
I’m constantly learning. Seriously—I’ve logged countless hours watching training sessions, taking online courses, devouring books, and listening to the most trusted voices in the dog world. Why? Because dogs evolve, people evolve, and great trainers never stop improving.
